BACK TO BRIGHTON FOR ROUND #4 WITH THE WoO LATE MODELS!

By Tommy Goudge (June 16, 2015) - London, Ontario - The 20th season of Southern Ontario Sprints series racing continues this Saturday, June 20 when the tour heads back to Brighton Speedway to join the World of Outlaws Late Model series for the biggest event in the track's history!

Brantford, Ontario's Mitch Brown leads the SOS championship standings heading into this Saturday's event. Brown bested 22 other drivers to win the SOS season opener at Brighton on May 16, and has won 4 of the last 7 SOS events held at Brighton dating back to the 2014 season opener.

Picton, Ontario driver Chris Jones claimed his first feature win of the season on June 6 at South Buxton Raceway, and sits just 29 points behind Brown in the championship standings. The 2013 SOS champ has 5 career wins at his home track at Brighton, good for 4th on the all-time list.

Keith Dempster from Alton, Ontario is currently third in the SOS standings. The two-time SOS champ is also third on the all-time SOS feature win list at Brighton, with a total of 8 wins at the Northumberland County oval. He's also third on the all-time SOS feature win list with 18.

Ohsweken, Ontario's Glenn Styres has the fourth spot in the SOS standings heading into this weekend's race. The five-time and defending SOS champ is second on the all-time SOS feature win list at Brighton with 13 victories, and is second on the all-time SOS feature win list with 25.

Sophomore driver Cory Turner of Caistor Centre, Ontario rounds out the current SOS top five. Turner came within three laps of his first career Sprint Car feature win on June 6 at South Buxton. Cory's father Jamie Turner is 6th in the SOS standings, followed by two-time SOS champ Warren Mahoney, sophomore driver Shawn Sliter, Rookie of the Year standings leader Ryan Turner, and veteran Bob Crawford.

Several local contenders will compete with the SOS regulars on Saturday at Brighton, including Joyceville, Ontario's Rick Wilson, and Belleville, Ontario driver Charlie Sandercock. Wilson is the all-time SOS feature win leader with a total of 32 victories, including a whopping 21 out of the 91 total SOS events held at Brighton. Sandercock is a Late Model standout who has come close to Sprint Car triumphs on several occasions, including a third place finish at Brighton on May 16.

Reserved campsites are available at Brighton Speedway this Saturday at a cost of $20. Please visit www.SouthernOntarioSprints.com and www.BrightonSpeedway.com for more information on this big event!
